Academic data access request , Master's thesis on credit risk
8 Jun 2026, 08:26 · 1

Hello Zindi team and IndabaX Zimbabwe organizers,

I am a final-year Master's student in Computer Science (AI specialization), currently writing my thesis on domain shift in transfer learning applied to bank loan credit risk prediction.

My source domain is the Give Me Some Credit dataset (Kaggle, US market), and I am looking for an African banking dataset to use as target domain. The IndabaX Zimbabwe 2026 dataset seems particularly well suited to my work because of its rich feature structure (client demographics, income, obligations, loan terms) which aligns conceptually with my source data.

However, I am unable to download the data from my account. Would it be possible to grant me academic access for research purposes only? I am happy to:

  • Provide proof of student status and supervisor contact
  • Strictly limit use of the data to my Master's thesis
  • Acknowledge Zindi and IndabaX Zimbabwe as the data source in my work
  • Share my final results with the community if relevant

Thank you in advance for your time and for the work Zindi does to support African data science.

Best regards,

Ange KEMMOGNE,

Hello Ange,

You can use the dataset available on i authored and is on Zenodo as an alternative option for your research.

It is publicly accessible here: https://zenodo.org/records/20569260

DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20569260 please cite it

It is a synthetic credit risk dataset designed for experimentation and academic use, and may be suitable for your work on transfer learning and domain shift.

Best of luck with your thesis.
